Blogs Save Lives

Read. Ok, so I don’t know Accordian Guy (or New Girl or any of the people involved), but these few posts in his blog offer an interesting, humorous and cautionary tale about dating in the new millenium. Better than a movie of the week.

There’s a Book For EVERYTHING

Posted in books on April 26th, 2003 by r3v

A friend of mine IM’d me with this link as proof that there is a book on EVERY topic.

Adult Video Business: How You Can Find Attractive Women to Star in Your Own Adult Films, Make Money, and Quit Work in 7 Week. That’s right. It’s a HOW TO book on porn flicks.

If ya check out the “also bought” section, you’ll notice there are several other similar titles. Get How to Become a Porn Director or Sex & Camcorders: The Complete Guide To Producing Low-Cost, High-Profit Adult Videos & DVDs or 1-2-3 Be a Porn Star! A Step-By-Step Guide to the Adult Sex Industry or even better… Coming Attractions: The Making of an X-Rated Video. heh. One must give a little thought to the title on that last one. ;)

Seems that there’s a whole Porn Industry library of books out there.

As if that’s not enough… you should really check out the rest of the stuff that Amazon thinks is relevant. Such as the link to info on Free Government Grants (that’s right, get a gub’ment check to finance yer porn) or the selection of music that they consider “Similar Items.” (Does Shania Twain know about this?!)

At any rate, this book wins my award for Best Book to “Accidentally” Leave Out When Friends and Family Visit.

Rain Against The Window

Posted in misc on April 15th, 2003 by r3v

A couple of weeks ago, I moved offices at work. I have a window office now and am quite happy with it.

Right now, it’s raining and I am listening to the rain pelt the glass while I work.

That rules. In my old office, I was completley oblivious to the elements.

Rainy Days

It rained just about non-stop yesterday. I seem to be one of the few people I know that think that absolutely rocked. I opened the front door and all the windows so I could see and hear the rain throughout my whole apartment.

Dammit, More CDs

Posted in music on April 14th, 2003 by r3v

A friend dragged me to the CD store. I went against my will. Honest!

Anyhow, the result was more CDs: Transplants, Anthrax, Apoptygma Berzerk, DMX and Daft Punk. Once again the clerk at the music store arched her eyebrows quizzically as she rang up my odd selection. She’s the same one that told me I “won the award for the strangest selection”, or somthing to that affect, a while back. (Heh, too bad they didn’t have that Willie Nelson CD I was looking for. (No, really. Geeze. Stop looking at me like that.))

Busy

OK, so I’m behind on the blog . I’ve been hammered by work. (That’s hammered BY work, not hammered AT work. If I was hammered AT work I’d have plenty of time to blog and whatnot. Incidentally, I work on some really cool projects at work, but I can never talk about them till they are released. They are almost always top top TOP secret. Apple is pretty tight-lipped about pre-release stuff. Surprise is a big factor for us.) I’ve also been working pretty hard on my pet project.

But fear not, gentle blogfans, you aren’t the only ones I’m dissin’. I’m behind on my really-real-world friends, web forums, chat, books, movies, comics, gaming and general fucking about. Hell, I’m even behind on catching up with my Mom. (Oh, quit looking at me like that… I called her today.)

I’m slowly catching up on some music though. (I needed some new/fresh tunes to work to.) I bought Evanesence, The Streets and the House of 1000 Corpses Soundtrack this week. (I like the fact that Evanesence was described as “anguish pop rock” in an article I read. :) I should have the Transplants disc today or tomorrow too.

Ah, I suppose I also haven’t been bloggin because it’s hard to do so without discussing the war and I’ve written emails, posted elsewhere and just generally discussed it to death … so I’ve sort of left it out of my blog recently.
