Spent Friday (and Saturday morning) in Napa Valley with the girl. Much wine tasting throughout the day. We hit Cakebread, Domain Chandon, Andretti and Trefethen. Almost needed a UHaul to get all the wine home. :) We stayed at a B&B that I can only describe as “bitchin’”. It’s called the Daughter’s Inn and it rules. It’s run by Brooke and Perry. Great hosts, and Perry is crackup.

Next time we go up, we’re gonna stay longer. We’ll definitely go back to the Daughter’s though. I highly recommend them.

According to this article, M$NBC has finally kicked Michael Savage off of their network. I think all I really have to say about that is: Hahah! Fuck you, Savage!

It’s a video of a buncha people playing a fantasy LARP. I’d never seen anyone play a fantasy LARP before. Um…

Ok. Now. Really. They look like they are having fun and I don’t begrudge anyone having their fun any way they see fit. Honest. (I game, used to go to renfaire, etc.) But there’s one thing that bugs me.

Someone in that group was bright enough to realize that when you gather a buncha geeks & dorks together in bad costumes to thwack each other with fake weapons and pelt the ogre with lightning bolts it needs to be done out in the woods. Secluded. Away from the mocking eyes of… well… everyone else on the planet. But no-one realized that videotaping this thing might be a BAD idea? Not to mention converting it to an mpeg so that it could be conveniently mocked on a global scale? *sigh*

But on the other hand, thanks for the entertainment. :)

That’s what the Togo’s girl asked me yesterday afternoon as I waited patiently for her to make my sandwhich. It was a #2, plainest sandwhich I could bring myself to order. And at 1600 or so, it was my first meal of the day.

“Recovering from the third,” I replied, in all honestly. She thought that was funny. Luckily it was the last question. I just wanted my sandwhich.

So, actually.. with the exception of being a bit hungover for the middle bit, my Fourth was great. It wasn’t very Fourth of July-like, but no matter. I started, and ended, it with my girl. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Well, maybe remembering to drink a little water the night before…

I mean, come on. Nevermind that I’m an atheist with a girlfriend. With the exception of Catholic Schoolgirls and naughty Nuns, I’m just generally not attracted to Christians, ya know? In fact, “non-Christian/Jew/Muslim” is kinda high on my desired featureset (heh) for a woman. (No offense to my Christian friends. ;) Of course, they’re prolly mostly happy that I’m not sullying their womenfolk with my heathen ways.)

The spam claims that their service has “worked for 1000’s just like” me. huh. I find that just a tad bit unlikely. Lying, spamming gits.

There’s a piece of Frank Cho (yeah, the Liberty Meadows guy) artwork of for auction at ebay called Monkey Fight Club. It’s a Super Friends / Space Ghost thing featuring Gleek versus that Space Ghost Monkey. It was done for Wizard magazine, but never ran because DC has a stick up their ass. Or so the rumor goes.
