Ballistics: Ecks vs Sever

r3v

I saw this movie on DVD recently. Had to see it on DVD, because I blinked
and missed it's stay in the theatres.

Ok, I really wanted to like this movie. It has Antonio Banderas and Lucy
Liu. Two actors I like. The previews looked neat...to me anyways. Kind of
mindless action entertainment, but with a little flair. Like MI:2 or
Desperado or XXX or something.

The main difference between this flick and those though, is that those
didn't SUCK.

Ok, Ballistics wasn't THAT bad, but it was pretty bad. The plot had holes
that were just too big for my suspension-of-disbelief-o-matic to fill in.
The writing was OK at best. The acting was decent, but they didn't have a
whole lot to work with.

Antonio was a brooding guy with an accent. He does that well. Lucy Liu
was a hot asian chick. She does that well. Ok, to be fair she was
actually the coolest part of the movie. Fairly convincing as a cold,
bad-ass agent of some sort. Seeing her run around, using all sorts of
nifty guns and kicking ass was pretty cool. I especially liked her with
the big-ass machine gun.

PS: I give this 2 out of 5 bad career moves.
