I'm talking about the Alpine IVA-W200 I just put in the GTI. Touch-screen control of iPod, Sirius, AM/FM, CD, DVD, MP3, WMA, etc... with the option of adding in a Nav System, if I feel like dropping the coin.

The touch-screen has this cool feature Alpine calls PulseTouch. What it does is offer some physical feedback when you use the touchscreen. It's hard to explain, but it makes it feel like the buttons on screen are physical buttons, sorta.

You can customize the background using Alpine's iPersonalize website. I'd like to make my own, but the files are in a an "apn" file format that appears to be some sort of MPEG-2 derivitive. (Or, more likely, the apn is a wrapper for the mpeg data.) Unfortunately, GIMP, GraphicCoverter and QuickTime all refuse to open the file. A quick check on the topic is no help. I found one forum where some people discussed it, but got no where. Maybe I'll have a go at the files with a hex editor when we get back from Vegas.
